Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway

The long-awaited return of the Mac is finally here. Over half a decade we waited for him, and now on Saturday he enters the cage with Max Holloway. This fight will begin at 170 changes things. Conor has been walking around heavy for the past couple years, and Max is used to fighting light and cutting down, but Max doesn’t have to cut at all for this fight which must help his camp being able to train at fighting weight.

How Conor McGregor Can Win

We haven’t seen Conor fight in half a decade. We don’t really know what to expect from him in this fight. Conor has put on more muscle, he has a steel rod in his leg, he's not the same guy we all picture him as from 2016. That can be a good and bad thing. Despite that I think he’s going to look for a knockout in the first and second round. His striking is still top tier, and he’ll be able to hold his own against Max especially at this weight. 

How Max Holloway Can Win

Max is one of the best strikers in the UFC. We all know that's why he is so fun to watch. He can throw down for 5 rounds and put on a show every fight and that better be what we see out of him on Saturday. He has never fought at 170, and he comes at a disadvantage not being as big as Conor coming into this fight. We can’t say for sure he’ll gas out because of the weight jump but we can’t say Conor will gas out either. Max needs to feel out Conor in the beginning of the fight. No one has seen him in so long we can’t be sure how he is physically even though he looks in top form. Being open minded about Conor is key in the beginning. Winning trades and circling him, with constant movement should gas out Conor and will work in Max’s favor in the later rounds.

Predictions

We’ve all been waiting for this for too long. It’s going to be hard for it to live up to all the hype but if someone’s going to do that it’ll be Conor and Max. With that I have gone with Max Holloway in this fight we know more about him and can predict how he’ll fight, with Conor we don’t know what we’ll see out of him. I hope I’m wrong but our prediction Max Holloway by KO/TKO
